We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Wellness Worker to assist with the overall well-being and health goals of an individual Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). This role goes beyond traditional caregiving, focusing on empowering her to achieve her health and wellness objectives through various supportive activities.
About the Client: The individual is a friendly and determined 50-year-old mother and wife with a TBI. She is highly motivated to engage in activities and follow routines but requires support and assistance, particularly with exercising and meal prepping. The Wellness Support Worker will collaborate with her daughter to ensure adherence to the exercise and meal plan prescribed by her care team.
Key Responsibilities:
Work together to organize household including grocery shopping and light household cleaning.
Assist with meal prepping and cooking healthy, delicious meals.
Facilitate daily workouts and physiotherapy stretches.
Accompany and assist in group fitness classes such as aquafit and yoga/pilates.
Provide transportation to social events, like church and community gatherings.
Support with occasional doctor's appointments and preparing for lab works.
Support and motivate in achieving personal health goals.
Ideal Candidate:
Must have a valid license and access to own vehicle. Mileage will be compensated.
An excellent cook with a positive, light hearted attitude.
Passionate about health, nutrition, exercise, and holistic wellness.
Experienced in or has a keen interest in yoga, meditation, kinesiology, occupational therapy, or personal training.
Compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic about empowering individuals.
Reliable, good at creating organizational systems, and able to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
Qualifications:
Background or currently working towards a qualification in health and wellness-related fields.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Previous experience in a similar role is an asset, but no experience is required. We encourage passionate and caring individuals of all backgrounds to apply.
Working Conditions and Compensation:
Flexible hours with weekday responsibilities only.
Hours: 12 to 15 hours a week: between 9:30 am and 2:30 pm preferably
Rate: $ 23/hr.
Certifications: Valid driver’s license, first aid, food safe
