Call in Cook
Ø Prepares quality snacks, lunches, and baking for the centre. (chopping, slicing, stirring, carrying trays/ muffin tins, lifting bags/ boxes 5-15 pounds etc while in a standing position)
Ø Delivers snacks to classrooms on a cart, down a hallway. (Walking maximum of 85 steps each way)
Ø Cleans dishes by unloading carts from the classroom into the dishwasher. (Bending over) Unloads dishwasher and puts dishes away. (Bending over) Cleans dishes in a three-compartment sink. (standing)
Ø Knowledge of legislation as it pertains to Food and Nutrition Standards, food safety regulations, fire inspection, and Health and Safety.
Ø Maintains accurate, timely, and complete records for menus, temperatures, controls, child allergies, etc.
Ø Works as a member of a professional team by creating partnerships with colleagues and volunteers, participating in centre meetings, and following policies and procedures.
Ø Assists to ensure the overall health and safety of children enrolled in the program by maintaining a sanitary and safe, organized environment and preparing meals within safe food preparation guidelines.
Ø Communicates effectively with co-workers, children, and parents
Ø Proactive, organized, flexible, patient, professional, prompt, and reliable attendance at work
