Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and creative Baker/Cake Decorator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking and artistic cake decorating, with experience in producing a variety of baked goods, including custom cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and pastries. This role requires attention to detail, efficiency, and the ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and bake a wide range of baked goods including cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and pastries from scratch or mixes.
- Decorate cakes and other baked goods using buttercream, fondant, ganache, royal icing, and other mediums.
- Design and execute custom cake orders to meet client specifications for weddings, birthdays, and other special occasions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and decorating areas, following health and safety standards.
- Monitor inventory levels of baking ingredients and supplies; assist with ordering as needed.
- Collaborate with the team on new product ideas, seasonal offerings, and display presentation.
- Ensure consistency in quality, portioning, and presentation of all baked goods.
- Package and label finished products for sale or delivery.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; formal culinary or baking education preferred.
- Proven experience as a baker and cake decorator (portfolio of past work is a plus).
- Knowledge of baking techniques and safe food handling procedures.
- Creative flair with excellent attention to detail and design.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Team player with a positive, customer-oriented attitude.
