About the Opportunity
Working in our Woodstock location, the CAD Technician will work with Maglin’s engineering team to provide well-structured production drawings. We are currently hiring for a 6 month contract position.
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Prepare manufacturing drawings, specifications and guidelines for production and installation.
- Review and verify calculations, design models, drawings, and design documents for accuracy and quality.
- Adapt to and support dynamically changing team goals and priorities.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Production for the development of custom solutions.
- Collaborate with internal and external resources in the development of products.
- To complete a first off check for all New / Custom products and first-time vendors.
- To assist Engineering Manager in ensuring Production, Assembly, Marketing and Sales are equipped with current and accurate product files.
SPECIFIC SKILLS
- Must be proficient in SolidWorks (preferably in a manufacturing setting)
- PDM / Draftsight / AutoCAD experience is an asset.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes (millwork, metal fabrication and weld fabrication)
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Strong analytical ability to problem solve
- Excellent communication skills within own department and to other departments.
- Knowledge of MRP / Engineering Masters is an asset
- CSWA / CSWP
EDUCATION
- Graduate of Mechanical Engineering Technologist program or similar.
