Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cabinet Maker to join and run our cabinet shop. The ideal candidate will have a passion for woodworking and a strong understanding of cabinet construction and installation. This role requires precision, creativity, and the ability to work with various materials to create high-quality cabinetry that meets client specifications.
Responsibilities
- Manage cabinet shop, including the organization and planning for all incoming projects.
- Construct, assemble, and install cabinets according to blueprints and design specifications.
- Operate power tools and woodworking machinery safely and efficiently.
- Perform heavy lifting as required during the cabinet-making process.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and preferences for custom cabinetry.
- Ensure all installations are completed accurately, including flooring installation as needed.
- Conduct construction painting and finishing touches on cabinets to achieve desired aesthetics.
- Assist in construction estimating to provide accurate project timelines and material costs.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Must be residing in Canada
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Cabinet Maker
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding technical drawings.
- Familiarity with various woodworking techniques, including tile laying and plumbing for installations.
- Strong skills in using hand tools and power tools effectively.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) as part of the job requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- A maintenance person background is a plus, showcasing versatility in construction tasks.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
