Job Summary
As a part of our Team Experience crew, you are responsible for the safe, efficient transportation of staff and guests on and off the mountain. This includes daily staff shuttles between the resort and staff housing (“the bunks”), public shuttle runs from the base of the mountain, and scheduled trips to town for essential errands or staff events. You are a front-line staff member, problem-solving and providing excellent customer service to create an inclusive experience, united by adventure and empowered by community.
Job Specifications
Wage: Based on experience- Schedule: Full-time, including weekends and holidays
- Skill Level: Class 4 License Required
- Reports To: Team Experience Coordinator
Job Responsibilities
- Safely operate the shuttle bus in all weather and road conditions
- Perform pre-trip vehicle inspections and complete safety checklists
- Transport staff between the resort and staff bunks at the start and end of shift schedules
- Operate a public shuttle service from the base of the mountain to the resort as scheduled
- Support weekly shuttle trips to town for groceries, supplies, or scheduled staff outings
- Communicate clearly with the Team Experience Coordinator to maintain an accurate and efficient shuttle schedule
- Ensure cleanliness and upkeep of the shuttle bus
- Report any mechanical concerns to the Maintenance Team
- Install chains and drive in winter conditions as required
- Practice safe work procedures
- Maintain a professional and respectable appearance
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Valid BC Class 4 Unrestricted with Air Brakes Driver’s License- Clean driver’s abstract
- 3+ years driving experience preferred
- Experience driving in winter/mountain conditions is a strong asset
- Strong communication and guest service skills
- Must be able to make quick decisions and manage priorities
- Must be physically able to assist with light lifting and snow removal if needed
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays
- Must be willing to support other departments as needed
- Family-oriented resort—must be comfortable working with groups and guests of all ages
- Adaptable, organized, and a strong team player
- Cross-department support and snow removal is required from all positions at SMR
