Summary
Provide support to the Facility Management team functions in accordance with operational requirements at the facility Reporting to the Lead Building Operator, the principal duties of the role are general maintenance, building inspection and/or cleaning of any duties required by the Facility Management team.
Scope of duties & responsibilities
- Responds to all maintenance calls as requested and assists the Lead Building Operator as needed.
- Perform preventative and reactive maintenance tasks.
- Be familiar with all aspects of the building operations.
- Use Computerized Maintenance Management System to manage work orders.
- Complete and maintain records, logs and reports pertinent to work assignments and the service contract.
- Monitor and maintain stock inventory of equipment, tools and critical spare parts.
- Inspect and review fire extinguishers.
- Respond to emergency situations, such as fire, elevator entrapment, etc.
- Perform all job functions in a safe manner and in accordance with all applicable legislation and best practices.
- Conduct building rounds to ensure all equipment are operating accordingly and take readings on all major equipment.
- Maintain shop and equipment areas in a neat and professional manner.

- Adhere to the company quality management plan and policy.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Perform all other related tasks as assigned by Lead Building Operator and/or senior management.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Is authorized to work in Canada
- Ability to pass the screenings and background check required by the company
- 1-2 years of work experience in facility maintenance or operations environment
- Knowledge of WHMIS, occupational hazards, safe work practices and applicable regulations, code and legislation
- Experience in using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office
- The ability to lift items up to 50lbs
- The ability to work on shift, and to be on call
- Strong customer service, communication and leadership skills
- Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize work in order to deliver successful results within agreed timeframes
