BREAKFAST ATTENDANT:
Needed for Thursday - Sunday AM 6:45am - 11:00am
***This person can also get more hours helping housekeeping with the rooms once breakfast is complete***
Responsible for setting up and breaking down each morning's breakfast buffet, ensuring buffet items (in accordance to brand standards) such fruits, breads, cereals and bakery items remain well-stocked, maintaining the safety and appearance of the buffet area and cleaning the area in preparation for the next day. This may include replenishing silverware, sugar caddies and condiments, light to moderate food preparation, refilling beverage containers, mopping, wiping and sweeping. To process washed linens through appropriate machinery or by hand, ensuring a picture-perfect quality control and high standard of productiveness. Attendants are also tasked with acting as representatives of the hotel or corporation they are employed by, and are therefore required to provide a welcoming and hospitable atmosphere to guests.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or the equivalent.
- Canadian Food Handler Certificate.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

- Working knowledge of cleaning chemicals.
TASKS:
- To provide personalized service to all guests
- To set up and maintain the breakfast bar as required by brand standards
- To take inventory of food, beverages and supplies needed for each day
- To order or purchase food supplies
- To prepare foods such as fresh fruit, coffee and juices from concentrates
- To stock coffee, juice and milk machines or dispensers
- To set up serving dishes/trays, utensils, cups and other paper products
- To set out/arrange cold food, such as pastries, cereals, etc.
- Clear and clean tables as they are vacated
- To prepare and set up hot food items
- To follow menu requirements as provided by the brand
- To wipe up spills
- To restock items consistently throughout the breakfast hours and for the next day
- To wash serving equipment and returning to storage
- To return reusable food supplies to storage
- To keep breakfast area clean including removing trash, cleaning breakfast area and kitchen counters, cabinets and floors
- To listen and respond to guests’ requests and complaints
- To follow all safety and security procedures and regulations while performing daily duties
- To vacuum and mop the breakfast area.
- To use proper chemicals to clean counters and breakfast areas
- To maintain uniform and grooming standards (especially foot wear) in accordance with standards and procedures of the Waterside Inn.
- To cater to guest requests.
- To report guest issues to the management.
- Must be fully prepared for emergency procedures (i.e. use of fire extinguishers, fire alarms, bomb threat & other safety requirements, including the providing of emergency medical assistance.
- To competently handle appropriate machinery start-up and closedown procedures.
- To sort and prepare linen for further processing.
- To load and unload dryers and washer machines.
- To fold linens by hand.
- To report to supervisor any maintenance defects or safety hazards.
- To ensure laundry room is kept clean and tidy at all times.
- Additional duties as assigned by the management
