Immediate opening for a multi-tasking office assistant to do bookkeeping, data entry, answer phones, direct calls, take messages, enter orders etc. as part of a team. Must be very organized and work well with and without supervision.
You need to be outgoing with great phone manners and have strong office and computer skills. Fluency in English, written and spoken, is a must. Prefer someone that is already used to working in an office environment.
You need to be a fast learner and you need to be able to work under pressure and with many types of people in the construction industry. You will need to be able to switch between helping manage incoming calls, directing them to the appropriate personnel or department and working on bookkeeping duties.
Part time position Mon - Thurs, 4 day work week. Hours can be flexible.
Casual construction work environment. Must be ok with dogs as 2 large very friendly office dogs will be snoozing nearby. Only selected candidates will be contacted for an interview.
Wage will be based on experience level and previous workplace references.
Experience
- Prefer some formal education in accounting, or finance or actual bookkeeping experience
- Familiarity with accounting principles and practices
- Some prior experience with Sage would be an asset
- You are organized, efficient, and detail oriented
- You have solid computer skills including Excel and Outlook
Duties
- Perform account reconciliation
- Handle accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, ensuring accuracy in all transactions.
- Manage accounts receivable duties including customer reminders and collections
