Job Summary: R&L Packaging is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing payroll, remittances, accounts payable and receivable (AP/AR), sales tracking, administrative support, and financial reporting. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Payroll Management
- Process payroll for employees accurately and on time
- Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
- Handle payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies
2. Remittances
- Prepare and submit remittances for taxes, benefits, and other deductions
- Ensure timely and accurate remittance payments
3. Accounts Payable and Receivable (AP/AR)
- Manage AP/AR processes
- Verify and reconcile invoices, receipts, and statements
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding payments and collections
4. Sales Tracking
- Track and record sales transactions
- Generate sales reports and analyze sales data
- Assist in forecasting and budgeting based on sales trends
5. Administrative Support
- Provide administrative support to the finance department
- Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records
- Assist with general office tasks as needed
6. Financial Reporting
- Prepare financial statements and reports
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role
- Proficiency in accounting software (Sage 50 and Quick Books) and MS Office (Excel, Word)
- Strong understanding of payroll, remittances, AP/AR, and financial reporting
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial transactions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $27.00-$33.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
