Learning Potential Foundation is hiring a Behaviour Strategist for the 2025-26 school year to support sites in Airdrie and Carstairs.
Current position available:
*Behaviour Strategist - 4 days per week in Airdrie & Carstairs (minimum 4 days per week but we can do 5 days per week for the right candidate; 1 of these days would be in Carstairs and the rest in Airdrie).
Behaviour Strategist role includes:
- Provide initial and ongoing assessments of child's behaviour, needs, and functional abilities
- Develop and document therapeutic intervention plans for children directly related to assessment results and based on industry best practice
- Provide training to EA's/team in implementing these interventions
- Participate in IPP/goal creation and execution; along with meeting and explaining goals/strategies to parents
We are looking for a candidate that has the following:
-Passion and skill to support children with special needs and/or behaviour challenges
-Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team for the best interest and success of each child
-Ability to work independently, with an emphasis on self-initiative, patience, maturity and tact
-Ability to communicate and liaise with families and other professionals in fostering a team atmosphere
-Ability to teach and transfer behavioural skills effectively
-Adaptability and flexibility in working with families with a variety of needs
-Ability to act decisively and proactively in a wide variety of situations
-Ability to manage stress
-Strong administrative, organizational, and time-management skills
-Comfort with computers and data-taking
-One year minimum commitment (for the 2025-26 school year)
Qualifications:
An acceptable Master’s degree in a relevant field combined with experience working with and training others in the areas of behavioural psychology, assessment techniques, treatment design and implementation.
We seek candidates with the following experience and education:
- Strong knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder and relevant disorders
- Experience working with people who have behavioral challenges (specifically, children aged 2-5 years)
- Master’s degree in a related area of study including:
o Disability and Applied Behaviour Analysis
o Applied Behaviour Analysis
o Child and Youth Care
o Psychology or Social Work
o Special Education
