The ideal candidate will have a passion for mixology and excellent guest service skills, ensuring that every guest enjoys a memorable experience. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for crafting cocktails, serving beverages, and creating an inviting atmosphere in our establishment. This role requires strong time management abilities and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness.
About Bank & Baron
Nestled inside the grand 1920 Dominion Bank building—think marble columns, soaring ceilings, and original vault doors—Bank & Baron is Calgary’s upscale gathering spot for craft cocktails, elevated pub fare, and after-work celebrations. We blend historic charm with modern mixology, creating a place where every sip feels like a dividend.
Responsibilities
- Craft & Pour with Precision – Shake, stir, or strain every drink—boozy or zero-proof—exactly to spec, so each sip tastes like compound interest.
- Keep the “Trading Desk” Spotless – Polish tools, sanitize glassware, and make the bar shine brighter than freshly minted coins.
- Balance the Books – Run the POS, handle cash, and close out tabs as accurately as a CFO signing off quarter-end reports.
- Guide Guest Portfolios – Recommend cocktails, flights, or mocktails that match each guest’s taste profile (and mood) while answering every “What’s good?” with confidence.
- Monitor Responsible Investing (in Spirits) – Track alcohol consumption, offer water and food pairings, and know when to gently call “last round” before anyone hits overdraft.
- Sync with the Kitchen – Coordinate timing so plates land hot and cocktails land cold, creating seamless service “mergers.”
- Guard the Vault (a.k.a. Food-Safety Standards) – Follow AGLC and health-code regs to the letter—because safe service always pays dividends.
You Bring
- 2+ years behind a high-volume craft bar (or the magical equivalent).
- WSET, BarSmarts, or similar creds? Gold stars—and extra cherries.
- Fluent in garnishes, bitters, and dad jokes.
- Ability to hustle during happy hour, and remain chill when someone orders “a surprise—make it blue.”
- Alberta ProServe certification.
Join us in delivering exceptional service while showcasing your bartending talents in a vibrant environment!
