Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Café Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our café. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry, excellent customer service skills, and a passion for creating a welcoming atmosphere. As the Café Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring high-quality food and beverage service, and maintaining operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
A café supervisor oversees all aspects of a café's operations. This includes: selling food and drinks, hiring and training staff, and maintaining inventory. The supervisor hires, trains, and oversees the café staff to ensure customers receive the highest level of satisfaction and product quality possible and leads by being a hands-on example at all times.
- Supervise and coordinate daily café operations, including staff management and scheduling.
- Ensure exceptional customer service by training staff on best practices and maintaining high standards of service.
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies and managing stock levels to minimize waste.
- Implement health and safety regulations to ensure compliance with local health codes.
- Manage cash handling procedures, including operating the POS system accurately.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors to ensure quality ingredients and supplies are available.
- Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal offerings and customer feedback.
- Address customer inquiries and complaints promptly to maintain satisfaction levels.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation of food items while maintaining quality standards.
Requirements:
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and problem solving skills
- Must have hospitality, retail and sales experience (minimum 3 years)
- Ability to coach and mentor a team
- Must be able to physically complete the job (eg. lift 10lb boxes, stand on feet for long period of time)
- Must be able to work flexible shifts as business demands
- Exceptional leadership skills.
- Exceptional level of communication skills.
- Being Canadian Citizen or Permanent resident is preferred.
- Food Safe Certificate Level 1 is required before starting the job
- Weekend availability (Saturdays & Sundays) 9 a.m. till 7 p.m. is a must.
- Minimum 5 days availability during business hours over 7 days a week is a must.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
