Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Bakery Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. As a Bakery Clerk, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers while assisting them with their bakery needs. This position requires knowledge of food handling and safety practices, as well as the ability to effectively communicate and upsell products.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting bakery items.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with food safety standards.
- Handle food preparation tasks, including slicing bread, packaging pastries, and preparing specialty items.
- Operate cash registers efficiently, processing transactions accurately.
- Provide information about products, including ingredients and dietary options.
- Upsell bakery items to enhance customer experience and increase sales.
- Assist in inventory management by restocking shelves and monitoring product freshness.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in the food service or bakery environment is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of food handling and safety practices is essential.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers.
- Cashiering experience is a plus, with proficiency in handling cash transactions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- A passion for baking and knowledge of various bakery products is advantageous.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
