Job Description
We are looking for an experienced AZ Driver in Kitchener, ON to join our transportation team from Monday - Friday, 12:00pm start time. The primary responsibility will involve moving loads of scrap metal from our customer site in Elora to our site in Kitchener. You may also be required to assist other locations from time to time.
What you're responsible for:
- Operating an AZ-class tractor pulling an end dump trailer to transport metal materials to and from designated locations
- Performing multiple tasks in various styles of trucks (tractors pulling end dump trailers, super roll off trailer, etc)
- Shunting trailers in and out of docks
- Safely loading and unloading metal materials onto the truck using appropriate equipment and secure the load
- Using a crane to assist with balancing loads in trailers or bins before moving load as necessary (training provided)
- Performing manual tarping if necessary
- Performing routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck
- Completing accurate and thorough records of deliveries and any other required documentation
Qualifications
To join our team:
- You have a valid AZ driver's license with a clean CVOR and Drivers Abstract
- You have experience driving 18 speed manual transmission (required)
- You have a minimum of 2 years of experience as an AZ Driver
- You must be physically fit to hand tarp 40 and 53yd bins
- You are customer service-oriented with strong communication skills
- You have physical stamina and the ability to perform loading and unloading activities
- You have familiarity with metal recycling processes and materials (an asset)
