Position Summary
Paladin Airport Security Services is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Attendance Management Specialist to support our high-performance operations across Canadian airport screening sites. The successful candidate will oversee attendance-related practices, support operational leaders in managing absenteeism, and guide compliance with internal policies, union agreements, and regulatory frameworks. This role is vital to maintaining our operational readiness, supporting employee accountability, and ensuring a healthy, engaged workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage employee attendance records across multiple airport screening locations.
- Analyze absence trends to identify high-risk patterns and provide actionable insights to leadership.
- Support local operations managers with attendance-related coaching, conversations, and corrective actions.
- Guide the administration of short-term and extended leave processes in alignment with Employment Standards and applicable CBAs.
- Lead return-to-work coordination, ensuring documentation and accommodations are timely and appropriate.
- Maintain centralized tracking tools and produce scheduled attendance reports for HR and Operations leadership.
- Work closely with the Labour Relations team when absenteeism intersects with grievances, accommodations, or disciplinary matters.
- Educate front-line managers on attendance best practices, documentation standards, and reporting procedures.
What you bring to PASS:
- Ability to acquire Transportation Security Clearance (TSC)/ no unpardoned criminal background
- Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in attendance management or HR roles in fast-paced, 24/7 operational environments (security, aviation, logistics, etc.).
- Strong working knowledge of employment legislation and leave-related compliance.
- Proficiency in using HRIS systems and Excel for attendance tracking and reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Experience working with unionized environments is considered a strong asset.
- Clear communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
