We are currently hiring for Two (2) Part Time Athletics & Wellness Engagement Leads, reporting to the Director of Athletics & Wellness the Athletics & Wellness Engagement Lead is a dynamic and creative professional responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a wide range of events and engagement initiatives to foster a vibrant, inclusive, and connected campus community. This role works collaboratively with departments, student organizations, and external partners to support the institution’s mission and enhance the student experience.
The position requires a strong interest in sport and recreation, and a sound understanding of the local, provincial, and national collegiate sport landscape. Working within the Athletics & Wellness Department, the Lead will take an active role in building, developing, and facilitating all athletic and engagement events on campus—including game days, pep rallies, intramurals and championship celebrations.
Responsibilities:
Campus Engagement:
- Plan and support CUE student engagement events such as pep rallies, Homecoming, Thunderwear Fridays, Championship celebrations, Thunderfest, and CSA events
- Collaborate with the Concordia Alumni Association to plan Alumni themed events on campus
- Host weekly promotional and engagement events to encourage student participation
- Develop and manage social media content that reflects and supports campus culture and community
- Promote campus recreation through events, social media, and campus outreach
Athletics:
- Support the hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation of all home event staff as needed
- Oversee the execution of game day operations in alignment with ACAC and CCAA standards
- Plan and implement promotional activities around home events
- Promote and publicize department events through various channels
- Ensure proper setup, cleanliness, and safety of facilities for all events
- Develop off-season operational plans for event management in collaboration with marketing and facilities teams
- Provide logistical support for athletic department events such as student-athlete orientation, awards banquets, and championship hosting
- Plan and execute fundraising events to support student-athlete scholarships
- Coordinate live streaming of home events via ACACTV
- Submit game results, recaps, and reports promptly per ACAC requirements
- Manage equipment needs, storage, and inventory for home events
- Support coaches with equipment logistics throughout the year
- Track and schedule staff shifts and monitor payroll
- Provide hospitality services for visiting teams and officials
- Participate in relevant ACAC and CCAA committees as required
Campus Recreation:
- Plan and lead on-campus intramural events and leagues
- Track attendance of campus recreation programing
- Schedule and support Campus Recreation Attendants
- Ensure the fitness centre remains a safe, welcoming, and clean environment for students, staff, and faculty
Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree, preferably in a related field (e.g. sport management, kinesiology, physical education, management) is preferred
- A minimum of two (2) years of related event management experience, preferably in a post-secondary environment is considered an asset
- Additional volunteer and/or coaching experience would be considered an asset
- Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check
- Valid class 5 Drivers’ License with the ability to provide a clear current driver’s abstract
- Working knowledge of the Canadian collegiate sport system, including ACAC, CCAA, and U Sports
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required
- Experience with cash handling and basic financial transactions
- Proficiency in social media platforms and website content management tools
- Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate in a diverse, team-based environment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Satisfactory Criminal Records Check results
