Associate Manager, Digital Operations
The UMC team works four days a week from our award-winning creative campus located in Liberty Village, Toronto, and one day to work virtually.
Reporting to the Manager, Digital Operations, this is a key position within the Digital Operations team, interacting with both internal and external clients to ensure the accurate and efficient ingestion of all new release metadata. The position requires a keen attention to detail, willingness to learn, strong organizational ability, a demonstrable understanding of Microsoft Office applications, and Monday.com.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to get a broad understanding of the core operations of the company and is likely to evolve to cover wider aspects of the supply chain over time in line with planned process and system enhancements.
How You’ll Lead
- Data Preparation and Quality Control - checking and preparing metadata submissions from label clients and ingesting metadata through the UMG supply chain to digital partners
- Processing metadata amendments/corrections as required
- Handling and uploading confidential assets like audio and video to the supply chain
- Working with label partners to promote adoption of best practice metadata standards across their release submissions.
- Providing effective training to new clients and users of release submission systems and processes, including providing online and in person demonstrations
- Contributing to projects to enhance and improve metadata quality
- Preparing metadata for catalogue integrations
- Troubleshooting downstream data feed issues through supply chain
- Supporting other Repertoire Operations processes as required
- Contributing ideas for system and process improvements
- Direct backup to the Manager, Digital Operations
- Other duties as assigned
What You Bring
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in music, media and/or entertainment
- 5 Years experience working within the music industry or adjacent industries
- Experience in supply chain work
- Ability to work in a role where a high degree of attention to detail/accuracy is required
- Ability to learn, interpret and apply detailed rules required for the formatting of metadata
- Methodical approach to work and experience of working under tight deadlines
- Adaptability when it comes to learning new systems and processes quickly
- Team first thinking with the ability to work autonomously
- Excel proficiency and experience in AirTable, Monday.com or similar systems
- Being organized and demonstrating an affinity with problem solving
- Experience of working with music metadata in a previous role an advantage
- Knowledge and experience using key digital service providers
- Bold, ambitious, creative thinking; an entrepreneurial style and a growth mindset
- Excellent communication skills anchored by honesty, accountability, and an open mind
- Passion for music and artists
