Join Hazukido Yorkville with this existing postition in Toronto (Hazukido Yorkville) - an upscale bakery café offering both dine-in and take-out options for our patrons.
What is the position?
Located in the heart of downtown Toronto, we are looking for full-time (approximately 30-40 hours) and part-time (less than 30 hours) Associates covering duties of Baker, Barista, and All-Rounder with weekend availability, a positive attitude and a smile always, coupled with a laser focus on customer service, details, and operational efficiency, and a growth mindset to join our tight-knit team.
What are the key tasks?
- Everyone is expected to jump in to support front, back of house, and duties as required
- Master recipes in order to prepare croissants, baked goods and drinks accurately and in a timely manner
- Apply excellent communications and business acumen to manage customer service and sales with a positive, can-do attitude
- Proactively clean and maintain the store and supplies in good order
- Handle POS and trouble shooting daily operations including but not limited to customer support, store management, inventory maintenance, replenishment and reporting
- Champion health and safety regulations and education to create a safe, clean, welcoming, positive, and enjoyable environment for customers and employees
- Contribute to the overall success of the bakery cafe by participating in marketing and social media campaigns, product development, business development, and completing required and recommended training, coaching, etc.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have (in order of importance):
- Previous experience in a bakery or coffee house or bubble tea or restaurant, (barista, waiter, baking, front of house, and/or back of house)
- A positive, team-work, can-do attitude, and a smile on your face in every interaction
- Natural sales and business acumen, excellent communication and customer service aptitudes
- Superb attention to details and ability to receive and facilitate feedback for the common goal purpose
- Food Handler/Safety Certificate (required to obtain within a month of employment) and schedule flexibility required
Nice-to-have:
- Previous relevant experience or education, especially in the food and beverage, retail, or hospitality industry
- Preferred experience as barista, customer service, and baker in a coffee shop, cafe, bakery settings
