The Faculty of Education, Western University, invites applications for two probationary Teaching Scholar (TS) appointments in the area of Educational Leadership: one with a focus in higher education and the other with a focus in K-12 education. We are especially interested in applications from scholars who have scholarship and teaching expertise in the areas of Indigenous education leadership.

These probationary appointments will be made at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, according to qualifications and experience. An appointment made at the rank of Assistant Professor will lead to consideration of continuing status and promotion to Associate Professor, TS at the end of the probationary period (maximum of 6 years). Appointment made at the rank of Associate will lead to consideration of continuing status and promotion to Full Professor, TS at the end of the probationary period (maximum of 3 years). The effective date of the appointments may be as early as September 1, 2025. The workload for the Teaching Scholar is 60% teaching, 20% scholarship activity, and 20% service.

A candidate with the potential to serve in a leadership role in the Education Doctorate program (Program Director, Education Doctorate) will be given preference for one of the appointments. The salary will be commensurate with the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience.
