Job Summary:
Reporting to the Store Manager, this role is responsible for overseeing evening and weekend operations of the gas station and convenience store. The Assistant/ Night Shift Manager ensures a high standard of customer service, operational efficiency, and team supervision during their shift. This position includes maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, handling paperwork, completing nightly bank deposits, and leading a team of up to three staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee nightly store operations and act as the Manager-on-Duty.
- Supervise and support a team of up to three staff, including delegating tasks and addressing performance issues as needed.
- Complete shift paperwork and conduct nightly bank deposits accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ensure all opening/closing procedures are followed.
- Provide excellent customer service, responding to inquiries and resolving issues professionally.
- Dispense fuel according to company procedures and follow all safety protocols.
- Maintain site cleanliness, including pumps, garbage areas, product displays, and walkways.
- Restock coolers, interior shelves, and exterior displays (e.g., washer fluid, motor oil).
- Support Store Manager in enforcing policies, training staff, and communicating shift updates.
- Report incidents or unusual activity in accordance with company guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Minimum 1 year of supervisory or management experience in a retail or customer service setting.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proven reliability and ability to manage a shift independently.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically active environment.
- Available for evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
- Previous experience in a gas station or convenience store is considered an asset.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
