Overview
Prairie Lily Early Learning Centre is looking for an Assistant Director to join our team at our Sacred Heart location! Our Assistant Directors play a pivotal role in overseeing daily operations of our facilities and following all policies and procedures to provide a safe, nurturing, and rich learning environment for children. This position requires strong leadership skills, a genuine passion for early childhood education, and the ability to both manage a team and work closely in supporting families. Our ideal candidate will have experience working with children and in some experience in management/administration.
Duties
- Develop and implement a play-based curriculum that fosters the holistic development of children.
- Supervise and mentor educators to ensure that high-quality learning environments and experiences are being followed.
- Maintain compliance with all licensing requirements for child care facilities.
- Create a welcoming environment for families, providing regular communication regarding children's progress and program updates.
- Work with the Executive Director to guide staff and educators through staff meetings and ongoing professional development.
- Assist in managing daily operations including staff scheduling, enrollment lists, programming, and facility maintenance.
- Collaborate with parents, community organizations, and other partners to enhance programs.
Skills
- The ideal candidate has a strong background in early childhood education with a Level III ECE Certification from the Ministry of Education in Saskatchewan.
- Proven experience in early childhood education roles with children ages 0-12.
- Ability to guide and mentor staff in program implementation, inclusive practices, and behavioural guidance.
- Able to build strong relationships with all program families and program partners.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
- The ideal candidate must be compassionate, caring, and committed to the futures of the children in our programs.
Our Assistant Directors are essential in helping to lead our teams and programs in creating incredible learning environments where children can thrive and where educators feel empowered to provide the best program possible.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.43-$33.53 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
