Dairy Lane Systems started in 1990 as a Surge milking equipment dealer. Since that time, we have expanded our scope to include automated milking robots, stabling, manure management, plumbing and ventilation services. Most recently, we acquired 2 milking equipment dealerships in Western Canada. In addition to the milking equipment sales, service and installation business, we are also involved in the design, build and operation of renewable energy biogas plants (DLS Biogas), the construction of agricultural structures (DLS Structures) and the manufacturing of dairy farm equipment (DLS Manufacturing).

We have grown steadily over the last 30+ years by focusing on our customer’s long-term success. Today, the DLS group of companies (DLS) employs over 140 team members. The successful candidate will work efficiently with the assembly and other DLS teams assembling and creating high-quality dairy parlour components for installation in dairy barns ensuring components are assembled according to specifications and within allotted timelines. This position supports our dairy customer’s needs and will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of their operations

Job Requirements

Assemble parts to create dairy parlour components accurately, thoroughly and quickly for installation in dairy barns

Blueprint reading

Utilize hand and power tools to make, assemble or repair parts and products

Conduct quality checks on assembled products to maintain high standards

Troubleshoot issues with assembly team and make necessary adjustments

Operate forklifts safely to move materials as needed

Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area

Work with team members in order to assemble products/improve assembly processes

Provide quality workmanship consistent with company and industry standards

Follow Health and Safety requirements in all regards ensuring prevention of illness/injury

Other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications

Proven assembly experience to assemble parts effectively and efficiently

Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot assembly issues

Previous farm/agricultural/dairy experience is an asset

Basic blueprint reading

Familiarity/proficiency in using hand and power tools

Strong manual dexterity with the ability to pay attention to detail and perform repetitive tasks

Ability to work independently and as a part of a team

Must be able to work unsupervised and take full ownership of the job, come on the job and “get to it”

Ability to perform physical tasks that may require lifting, pushing, pulling, bending/stooping/crouching, kneeling, lifting up to 50lbs, standing for extended periods of time

Good hand eye coordination

Strong work ethic and a desire to be part of a high-performing team

Must be legally entitled to work and live in Canada

Must maintain a valid G driver’s license and have your own vehicle as we are not on a bus route
