Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Asphalt Raker to join our team based out of St.Johns, NL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and even application of asphalt during paving projects. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with a team to achieve high-quality results in road construction and maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Rake and spread asphalt to create a smooth surface.
- Assist in the preparation of the site prior to paving, including cleaning and grading.
- Collaborate with crew members to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to safety standards.
- Monitor the quality of asphalt being laid and make adjustments as necessary.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Follow all safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
Skills
- Previous experience in asphalt paving or construction is preferred
- Strong understanding of asphalt raking techniques and materials
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and physically demanding environments
- Team player with strong communication skills
- Reliable transportation to job sites
- Safety-focused with a positive attitude
