Your strategic insight, practical leadership, and strong team-building skills guide your professional life. With your extensive experience in modern pulp mills coupled with a relentless pursuit of excellence, you are well-equipped to lead pulp production while maintaining a sharp focus on operational excellence, continuous improvement, and key priorities such as performance, safety, and team engagement. You don't accept the status quo, instead you bring your attentions to quality, cost efficiency, and long-term sustainability as you play a pivotal role in aligning Canfor Pulp's Finishing Department with overall mill operations and Canfor Pulp’s broader organizational objectives.

Here’s what your day-to-day could look like:

  • Leading operations across the bleach plant, pulp machine, and warehouse, ensuring everything runs efficiently and safely.

  • Developing and refining processes that support world-class operational excellence, with a focus on long-term sustainability.

  • Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and initiatives to reduce costs, improve product quality, and boost team productivity and engagement.

  • Taking the lead on safety, making sure we meet and exceed all safety standards.

  • Planning and managing all maintenance activities—including annual maintenance outages—in coordination with the broader team.

  • Ensuring ongoing compliance with ISO 9001 (Quality) and ISO 14001 (Environmental) standards.

  • Collaborating with the Sales Group to build smart, efficient production plans.

  • Creating training programs that support skill development and knowledge sharing across your crew.

  • Overseeing the development of annual budgets and long-term project scopes.

  • Monitoring daily, weekly, and monthly cost KPIs to keep our performance on track.

What We're Looking For:

  • A strong background in pulp production, with direct experience in Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, or Total Quality Management.

  • Proven ability to motivate and lead teams at all levels of the organization.

  • A sharp eye for identifying performance gaps and taking proactive steps to improve operations.

  • A track record of success in driving cost reductions, efficiency gains, and overall operational improvements.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with confidence presenting to teams or senior leadership.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the agility to respond to changing priorities and business needs.
