Career Opportunity
We have a new opportunity in our Treasury Services area. We are seeking to hire an experienced Insurance and Risk Analyst to join our team.
What You Will Do
You will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the TTC’s corporate insurance program with the goal of identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential risks to assets, operations and major construction projects.
You will provide expertise in insurance and risk management across the organization, providing support to internal departments and stakeholders. As such, key responsibilities will include, reviewing contract language (various contracts, agreements, RFPs, and construction documents), managing insurance claims, and issuing/receiving certificates of insurance.
As the Analyst, Insurance and Risk, you will also be involved in conducting risk assessments, assisting in the development and execution of risk mitigation strategies, and offering informed recommendations. Additionally, the role will support the review and monitoring of employee travel requests.

What Qualifications Do You Bring?
- A University Degree, or College Diploma in a related field (i.e., Business, Accounting etc.) combined with a few years of similar or related work experiences or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed to be equivalent.
- A Certificate in Risk Management and/or a Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation awarded by the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) would be considered an asset.
- Experience in the development, direction and implementation of risk management strategies for insurance programs
- Working knowledge of, and experience in, insurance, government administration, comprehensive risk management principles, general budget practices, contractual risk transfer and construction risks
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact and communicate effectively to forge solid internal and external relationships
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a positive, solution-oriented mindset
- Possess sound judgement; demonstrated organizational and problems solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to produce effective reports and a variety of written correspondence
- Ability to work well under pressure both individually as well as in a team environment
- Working knowledge of personal computer applications (i.e. Word, Excel, database software) and general computer skills
- Must have or rapidly acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders including disability accommodation and accessibility requirements pertaining to passengers and employees.
