This role sits within Laurentian Bank.

The incumbent acts as an Analyst in activities related to the calculation of the IFRS 9 provision. They participate in the production process for calculating the IFRS 9 provision.
They also contribute to the design and implementation of reports to improve the monitoring and analysis of risks related to the IFRS 9 provision.
Responsabilities
  • Participates in the production of the provision calculation, interprets data, explains variances, and assesses implications.
  • Contributes to the improvement of current production processes.
  • Advises and supports internal clients within their area of expertise.
  • Maintains effective communication with various stakeholders involved in the section’s activities.
  • Performs any other related or general tasks requested by their supervisor or required as part of their duties.
  • Ensures the development and collaborates on the deployment of dashboards to monitor the performance of the Bank’s credit portfolios.
  • Analyzes performance indicators related to the Bank’s credit portfolio.
  • Produces analyses, interprets data, explains variances, and evaluates implications on the Bank’s results.

Qualifications

  • University degree in data science and business analytics, mathematics, physics, statistics, actuarial science, engineering, econometrics, finance, or any other related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience with SAS modules in risk management.
  • In-depth knowledge of database querying using SQL and experience with specialized statistical tools, including SAS (Enterprise Guide and Enterprise Miner).
  • Strong ability to influence and innovate in proposed solutions.
  • Ability to simplify and communicate complex ideas.
  • Knowledge of the banking industry, credit products in Canada, and credit risk management tools.
  • Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving orientation.
  • Attention to detail and precision.
  • Team-oriented and collaborative.
  • Bilingual (French and English).*
  • Professional working proficiency in French and English languages required as position involves frequent written and oral communication on complex matters with internal and external parties in both languages
