Job Summary
The Administrative Float provides administrative assistance that works closely with the Events Coordinator for a variety of administrative and event related tasks. It is expected that the Administrative Float can work independently and as a team member to develop positive working relationships with colleagues, Elders, clients and community members.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Grade 12 required, post-secondary education in office administration, events, tourism or a related field is preferred
- A minimum of six months of experience in an administrative role
- Experience in events, tourism, and/or project management is preferred
- Experience and knowledge of local Indigenous communities and their needs is an asset
- A combination of education and experience will be considered
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to work independently to establish effective interpersonal relationships
- Proficiency in the use of Word and Excel
- Ability to self-regulate, meet deadlines, have attention to detail with strong accuracy
- Recognizes and respects all cultural diversity and has an understanding of Indigenous culture
- Good oral and written interpersonal and communication skills
Working Conditions:
- Travel and work some non-standard hours may be required
- Work 20 hours per week –Tuesday to Friday is preferred but will consider other options for the right candidate
Conditions of Employment:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Criminal Records Check
- Must possess and maintain a valid BC Driver’s License
- Must possess a vehicle in good operating condition and appropriate vehicle insurance to meet program requirements
