Adminstrative Assistant / Event Planner
The Nanaimo African Heritage Society is an community organization of Nanaimo, B.C. seeking to unite People of African Descent with all cultures and ethnicities. We are looking for a reliable Administrative Assistant to assist with the publication of our successful magazine, annual community events, and our day-to-day operations.
Job Description:
- Writing professional letters to clients and sponsors
- Reading aloud, Replying to, and Sending e-mails
- Research various subjects and topics on the Internet
- Maintaining computer and paper files
- Budget data-entry onto Excel spreadsheets
- Taking and placing phone calls
- Assisting with setup of virtual events
- Running errands - Driver's license and own vehicle required
- Help planning latest event productions
Qualifications:
Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational skills, ability to adapt to changing priorities, an interest in working with a diversity organization.
Skills:
Microsoft Office software including Word and Excel
Proficiency with Google Drive
Typing 40+ wpm
Professional telephone demeanor
Basic math and English
Problem Solving skills and Tech Savvy
Nice to Have:
Basic Graphic Design knowledge
