The Penticton Seniors’ Drop-In Centre also know as The Centre is a non profit society that promotes recreation, education and wellness for anyone over 50 years of age. Our facility offers everything from Yoga to computer support classes, We have a café that offers healthy meals at very reasonable prices for anyone to enjoy.
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our daily operations by providing exceptional administrative support in a fast-paced environment. This position requires strong organizational skills, effective communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.

Duties
- Co-ordinate all activities of the Centre; keeping a relationship with all our activity leaders.
- Look for opportunities to grow the activity classes.
- Set up outside Bookings (rentals); coordinating available times which least interfere with the Centre activities; liaise with the contact of these bookings.
- Co-ordinate schedules for volunteers to execute the set ups of all activities and private bookings.
- Be familiar with accounting operations that pertain to outside rentals.
- Develop and manage the schedules for Opening-Closing volunteers; The Set up volunteers and the Janitorial Staff.
- Co-ordinate our AV volunteer schedule.
- Co-ordinate in house event's; posters, tickets, menu requests and marketing.
- Co-ordinate the Social media marketing with our marketing volunteer team.
- Work, as required, with all members of the Board of Directors & Volunteer coordinator to ensure that assigned tasks are carried out effectively.
- Review & update the Annual Events from to ensure monthly tasks are completed in time.
- Develop a monthly calendar of the Centre activities, and update as needed.
- Inspect the building & grounds daily. Complete daily checklist.
- Complete office administration duties and; order janitorial supplies as required.
- Submit Entandem reports quarterly.
- Manage and maintain the records of the Centre.
- Maintain a digital copy of all correspondence & communications that are sent in the name of the Centre.
- Annually, update the Asset Inventory List of the Centre to be given to the Executive Director.
- Establish & Maintain a good working relationship with the Executive Director, the Directors, staff ( cook, janitorial, volunteer coordinator), volunteers, members & the community.
- Required to submit a monthly report to the Executive Director outlining accomplishments.
- Attend meetings when required.
- Embrace the Vision & Mission Goals of the PSDICS; be familiar & promote the goals of The Business Plan & Strategic Plan in a positive way .
- Over pest control.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service role is preferred.
- Precise verbal and written communication skills.
- A positive & professional attitude.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient in using Google Suite applications (Docs, Sheets, Drive).
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.
- Attention to detail with strong proofreading abilities.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: $45,000.00 per year
