The Ministry of Justice and Attorney General provides a fair justice system that upholds the law and protects the rights of all individuals in Saskatchewan; promotes safe and secure communities; and provides legal and justice policy advice to government.
The Civil Forfeiture Office, pursuant to The Seizure of Criminal Property Act, 2009, assists in making crime unprofitable by capturing resources tainted by unlawful activity, making those resources unavailable to fund future crimes.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent time management skills to join our team as an Administrative and Asset Support Specialist. You will collaborate with the Office Manager/Deputy Asset Manager to ensure the timely and accurate completion of administrative and asset management tasks which will assist in promoting public safety in Saskatchewan.
As the Administrative and Asset Support Specialist, you will:
- Create legal documents and administer digital information with accuracy;
- Assist in the management of property, including tracking, appraising and liquidating assets;
- Communicate with the public, all levels of government and police agencies verbally and in writing;
- View potentially unsettling information or photographs and encounter property which may be contaminated by drugs.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to:
- Input, edit, update and retrieve information using various software, word processing, email, database and accounting systems;
- Apply expert knowledge of EXCEL and other MS software to create, compile and provide statistical data;
- Maintain and manage a shared drive;
- Manage, evaluate, and liquidate assets, including liaising with outside contractors and agencies to track, maintain and dispose of property;
- Examine assets, applying polices to ensure safety measures maintained;
- Moving and lifting objects weighing up to 23 kilograms (50 pounds);
- Examine, understand and apply legislation, regulations, policies and guidelines to perform daily tasks and operations;
- Provide clear, concise and accurate explanations of policies, procedures, reporting requirements and respond to inquiries, both verbally and in writing;
- Work independently, with minimal supervision;
- Work cooperatively with others in a team environment to establish, build and maintain positive working relationships;
- Complete tasks accurately, ensuring deadlines, goals and objectives are met;
- Identify and assess problems, explore options and implement appropriate solutions using applicable policies, procedures and guidelines;
- Manage high volume workloads, including managing and prioritizing multiple projects and tasks; and
- Hold a valid driver’s license and be able to travel within the province;
Typically, the knowledge and experience required to achieve the above is obtained through:
- 1-year certificate/diploma or equivalent work experience.
