Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Assistant to join the Boyer Hyundai team. The Accounting Assistant will support the accounting department with day-to-day tasks such as processing invoices, reconciling accounts, handling dealership-specific transactions, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role requires someone with a basic understanding of accounting principles and excellent organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Record and post daily sales and service transactions
- Reconcile bank statements, general ledger accounts, and daily cash deposits
- Maintain accurate records for floor plan financing, vehicle inventory costing, and deal packs
- Assist in monthly closing procedures
- Verify and process deal jackets to ensure compliance with dealership and manufacturer requirements
- Support preparation of financial reports and schedules
- Communicate with vendors, banks, and internal departments to resolve discrepancies
- Maintain filing systems and ensure financial documentation is organized and secure
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 1+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience (automotive industry experience a plus)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general accounting software
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills
