What is the opportunity?
Reporting to the Associate Director, ALM Reporting, the incumbent will gain exposure to the asset modelling, asset liability management, reporting and financial risk oversight. The role primarily supports the team on asset modelling, discount rate (DR) production process and earnings by source (EBS) analysis. The role also assists in the ad-hoc analysis and other ALM financial reporting inquiries.
What will you do?
- Assist in the monthly DR production and quantification of ALM trades in AXIS, including asset data checking, model changes in Moody’s AXIS.
- Assist in annual review and monitoring on key economic assumptions such as corporate bond default, inflation and ultimate risk free and liquidity premium.
- Support team in EBS analysis and reporting, including extracting model runs details to validate reported results.
- Collaborate with investment team on quantification of ALM activities and strategies
- Provide support to internal/external teams for quarterly/annually reports such as LICAT, risk reports, AAR, materials for Board, etc.
- Support the identification, development, and implementation of enhancements to existing DR process, methodologies and frameworks.
- Support Financial Risk Oversight team on ad-hoc requests, including model enhancement and abnormalities investigations.
What will you need to succeed?
Must-Have
- Bachelor’s degree (or above) majoring in Actuarial Science or Statistics
- ASA or close to ASA with a minimum 5-6 SOA exams
- Prior experience on Moody’s AXIS and SQL is required, experience on software such as R, tableau would be an asset.
- Strong problem solving and technical skills, be able to investigate issues and provide suggestions
Nice-to-Have:
- ALM/Investment working experience and knowledge would be an asset.
- Self-motivated and attention to details
