Overview
The Activity Assistant plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in our vibrant community. This position involves organizing, and facilitating engaging activities that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and physical well-being among residents. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with the elderly and a strong understanding of their unique needs.
Duties
- Co ordinate with the Activity Director to Plan and implement a variety of recreational and therapeutic activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents.
- Assist residents in participating in activities, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout.
- Foster a positive environment by encouraging social interaction among residents.
- Document participation and feedback from residents to improve future programming.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to promote upcoming events and gather input.
Skills
- Experience in retirement settings is preferred.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with residents and their families.
- Understanding of dementia care practices to support residents with cognitive impairments.
- Background in caregiving or assistance for individuals with disabilities is advantageous.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Creative thinking skills to develop engaging activities that cater to diverse resident needs.
Job Requirements
- Must have minimum high school diploma
- Must be physically able to carry and set up tables and equipment used for activities

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 per hour
