Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting various accounting functions. The Accounting Clerk will assist with account payable, account receivable, payroll processing, account reconciliation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and record accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Assist with payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
- Prepare bank and account reconciliations on a regular basis.
- Maintain and update financial records in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Assist in year-end closing procedures.
- Prepare and submit WSIB reports in compliance with regulatory deadlines
- Calculate and remit HST/GST accurately and on time
- Generate reports and respond to inquiries related to financial data.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Perform general administrative and clerical tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- A post-secondary education in Accounting or Finance i.e. College diploma or University degree.
- 1+ years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role.
- Familiarity with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
