As a Trailer Mechanic, you will:
- Inspect, diagnose and repair fleet of intermodal trailers through preventative and scheduled maintenance in shop
- Perform general trailer repairs on electrical and/or pneumatic systems, suspension and braking systems
- Repair and maintain truck trailer wheels to ensure optimal performance
- Conduct annual safety inspections using Drive On program
- Master various welding techniques, including oxy-fuel cutting, arc welding, and MIG welding to complete structural repairs
- Comply with safe operating procedures and company health and safety policies
- Follow standard work order process and procedures, ensuring detailed, accurate and timely records
- Build a strong and supportive team network with co-workers, managers and owner operators
- Participate in a learning environment, working with apprentices on a regular basis
- Maintain a good quality inventory of personal hand tools
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment
- Other various duties as required
What we need from you:
- Hold a 310J license.
- Possess a valid driver's license with reliable transportation to work.
- Demonstrate excellent time management and communication skills.
- Must own a personal set of tools.
