The 2nd Cook is reporting to the Executive Chef. The successful candidate must have open availability without any restrictions and must be able to work as early as 4am. The working hours will vary from days, evenings and weekdays/weekend shifts.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Preparation and production of menu items for catering, banquets, dining room & room service.
- Ensure that sanitation, hygiene and safety standards for proper food storage and handling are me.
- Ensure a safe working environment through proper use of equipment, being proactive in accident prevention and diligent in eliminating safety hazards.
- Assist culinary team with various food preparation tasks.
- Communicate with Executive Chef on a regular basis to discuss products and inventory requests.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 2 years experience in a hotel culinary setting is a definite asset and/or 5 years Fine Dining culinary experience
- Red Seal or equivalent an asset
- FoodSafe Level 1 certificate mandatory
- Excellent culinary skills and cooking knowledge
- Self starter, takes initiative, positive attitude and leadership skills
- Desire to work in a team based environment

Experience:
- Cooking: 2 years (preferred)
- banquet cooking: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Food Safety Certification (preferred)
