Role Summary
The Winter Sports School Supervisor will be responsible for the supervision and operation of all Winter Sports School facilities, programs and employees. Reporting to the Visitor Services Manager, this role will support the business while creating and maintaining the highest level of employee and guest experience. The Winter Sports School Supervisor will be active in delivering daily processes and successful execution of The Mountain School. This is a full-time seasonal position.
You Will:
- Be responsible for the seasonal daily operations of the mountain school zones; learning area, booking desk and pro-room.
- Coach, motivate and effectively lead the Lead Instructor, Visitor Services Agents and Instructors through active daily communication and seasonal performance reviews and evaluations.
- Oversee the department’s compliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the health and safety program.
- Oversee the efficient sale of programs and instructor scheduling.
- Maintain point-of-sale system to ensure accurate reporting is achieved.
- Perform cash-out duties.
- Respond in person to email and phone inquiries.
- Verify daily and weekly departmental time sheets and commissions are accurate and payroll is completed in a timely manner.
- Perform morning meetings and on-snow supervision duties.
- Create a service and sales focused culture to exceed guest and employee expectations.
- Assist in developing and implementing employee orientation and training.
- Adhere to all environmental policies and programs as required.
- Assist with other duties as required.
You Have:
- A minimum of CSIA or CASI Level II. Dual certification preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years snow or recreation industry management experience.
- Knowledge of the Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance (CSIA) and Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors (CASI) organizations and their working methodologies.
- Proven track record leading and supporting a team in a ski school environment.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Post-secondary degree, diploma or certification (an asset).
- Experience using POS and related industry software, i.e. Paradocs (an asset).
- Completed criminal background check.
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- The ability to withstand extended exposure to extreme mountain weather.
- The physical conditioning and stamina to conduct on-mountain lessons for long periods.
