Job Brief
Under the direction of the Recreation Complex Services Supervisor, this position is responsible for monitoring and assisting clientele in the weight room.
Wage $22.09 - $23.89 hourly (2025)
Reports To Recreation Complex Services Supervisor
Department Community Services
Location Lindsay Recreation Complex
Hours Up to 24 hours per week
Job Description
Ensure the safety of all patrons attending the weight room
Secure equipment and complete regular inspections
Clean the weight room equipment and facility
Greet customers and market division health and wellness programs and personal training services
Deliver weight room orientations for new and potential users
Maintain daily attendant logs
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR
- Previous experience in recreation and/or fitness industry
- Knowledge of general health and fitness
- Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to function independently and in teamwork situations
- Excellent administration and interpersonal skills with a proven focus on customer service
- Excellent communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Demonstrated professional and ethical responsibility to protect privacy, use confidential information appropriately, treat sensitive situations with appropriate degree of tact and discretion
- Excellent time-management skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
- Ability to demonstrate initiative consistently with commitment to quality improvement, sharing process improvement initiatives with management
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office to create documents, schedules and conduct data searches, the internet, and any other related program software
- Upon a conditional offer of employment, a Criminal Record Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Search will be required
