Il Fornello, a fast-paced Italian restaurant in Richmond Hill, is seeking experienced full-time and part-time wait staff who are dedicated to providing exceptional customer service and enhancing our guests' dining experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a welcoming and efficient service to our guests
- Familiarize guests with our menu, including daily specials and wine pairings
- Ensure accurate and timely capture, delivery, and serving of food and beverage orders, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation
- Prepare and serve beverages, including cocktails and hot drinks
- Manage multiple tables effectively during busy shifts
- Monitor guest satisfaction with food, beverages, and service, proactively addressing their needs and requests
- Collaborate with the kitchen to coordinate timely delivery of orders and address any guest concerns with their meals
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining area
- Process cash and payment transactions in a timely and accurate manner
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of serving experience in a fast-paced restaurant; experience in Italian cuisine and knowledge of wine pairings is preferred
- Strong communication, hospitality, interpersonal, and math skills
- Valid Smart Serve Ontario certificate
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to lift, reach, and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
