About the Job
Inland Industrial Supply Ltd. is a wholesale distributor supplying a variety of safety tools and job site consumables with exceptional service to the industrial construction and fabricating market. We are searching for a talented and highly self-motivated professional to join our Warehouse team at our main office in Edmonton.
The primary responsibilities of the VMI Support are to manage the receiving and processing of orders from our customers to deliver directly to the site and replenish their stock bins. The identified candidate will also maintain and organize the materials at the customer site. This position requires strong organizational, customer, and attention to detail, as well as a passion for working with others in a fast-paced environment.
As the point of contact, you will represent the Warehouse department and the company to our customers. Some of the job duties include, but are not limited to:
Key Responsibilities
- Daily counts of various products at customer VMI locations
- Complete Site specific VMI lists as required
- Manage VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) on-site and across multiple assigned customer locations.
- Ensure customer’s inventory is maintained to the appropriate minimum and maximum requirements
- Picking, packing, delivery, and stocking of VMI orders on time
- Drive to customer sites deliver and put away ordered products at respective VMI locations
- Expedite orders when required to meet customer’s needs
- Ensure accurate order processing through SAP
- Providing support and relief to warehouse operations and the sales department when needed
- Build ongoing relationships with customers and demonstrate product benefits
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the company’s service offerings
Skills and Abilities
· Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work well under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment
· Excellent attention to detail with the drive to meet tight deadlines
· Energetic and friendly with excellent verbal and written communication skills
· High sense of urgency with respect to customer service
Qualifications
· Applicants must be willing to work in Edmonton, Alberta
· Has a valid class 5 driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
· Experience in tool crib: 1 year (required)
· Minimum of 2 years Customer Service experience
· Industry knowledge and experience in safety and construction consumables is an asset
· Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook
· Previous experience with SAP Database (an asset, not required)
