What we are looking for:
Reporting to the Global Chief Human Resources Officer (‘’CHRO’’), the Vice President, Total Rewards will be a key member of the HR team and will interact at all levels of the organization.
S/he will design and develop the strategy, programs, plans and policies for broad-based compensation as well as executive compensation while also overseeing all benefit offerings for Fiera Capital (‘’Fiera’’) globally.
Core to the Vice President, Total Rewards’ mandate is driving employee performance and elevating the employee experience through a holistic rewards strategy. S/he will have a proven track record of creating effective rewards strategies and programs on a global scale while thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
The successful candidate will have the ability to be a high-level strategic thinker capable of partnering with Fiera’s senior leaders while being a hands-on leader who drives seamless execution.
S/he will bring an innovative approach, critical in ensuring the company’s rewards are competitive, drive business results that are aligned with its culture, and are understood and valued by its leaders and employees. The Vice President, Total Rewards will demonstrate exceptional communication and listening skills and will have a successful track record of closely collaborating with business leaders.
Your responsibilities:
Total Rewards
- Lead the strategy for Fiera’s total rewards and drive its roadmap for delivery. Develop effective and market-relevant compensation and benefits programs aimed at attracting and retaining a highly talented workforce in a competitive environment.
- Ensure key linkages between performance management, employee engagement and total rewards.
- Lead the design, implementation, and governance of carry compensation programs, ensuring alignment with firm strategy and market competitiveness.
- Oversee all compensation programs, including design, planning, implementation, administration, compliance and communication of base salary compensation, variable compensation and equity programs at all levels, including executive compensation.
- Continuously evaluate rewards programs to ensure they are aligned with Fiera’s business and talent strategies and competitive for our industry.
- Develop metrics to measure the effectiveness of total rewards initiatives across the organization globally.
- Support the CHRO in the planning and preparation of the recurring meetings with the Human Resources Committee (“HRC”) of the Board of Directors. The Vice President, Total Rewards may be asked to participate in/present during the HRC meetings, on an ad-hoc basis.
Leadership
- Serve as the strategic advisor and thought partner to the CHRO and the executive leadership team in the area of total rewards.
- Provide active leadership to the Total Rewards Team, focusing on strong execution, growth and development of talent and ensuring the right skills, behaviors and capabilities for performance and impact.
Must have requirements to be successful in this role:
Global Total Rewards Experience
- 15+ years of combined experience in a compensation or total rewards role from either the corporate sector, consulting services, or a combination of both.
- Depth of exposure across all areas of the compensation function, from executive compensation to incentive and commission programs, to broad-based compensation, to benefits, etc.
- Experience building and overseeing global compensation programs in all key regions where Fiera operates (Canada, US, EMEA, and Asia), is strongly preferred.
- Deep understanding of carry vehicles and carry compensation models, including their design, implementation, and long-term impact on talent retention and incentive alignment.
- Preferred candidates will bring experience in the investment management industry, along with a deep understanding of both Public and Private Markets, which will be essential to excelling in this role.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex compensation structures into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders.
Leadership Experience
- 5+ years in a leadership role with demonstrated track record of success.
- A demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, engage, and inspire talented, diverse, and unified teams that exhibit a performance-driven, inclusive, and high-integrity mindset.
Education
- Strong educational credentials, ideally with a strong numerical background (e.g., business, actuarial sciences, mathematics).
