Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to veterinarians in delivering high-quality care to animals. You will work in a fast-paced environment where your skills and expertise will directly contribute to the health and well-being of our patients.
We are looking for a veterinary technician/RVT with availability from 8am-midnight, including 2-3 weekends per month. Wage compensation varies based on OAVT registration and experience level.
Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
- Perform laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor animal patients before, during, and after procedures.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
- Provide client education on pet care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the clinic or hospital environment.
- Handle animal restraint safely and effectively during examinations or treatments.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited veterinary technician program is required.
- Registration with OAVT is an asset.
- Experience in a veterinary setting is REQUIRED.
- Strong laboratory skills, with the ability to perform diagnostic tests accurately.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
- Compassionate demeanor towards animals and their owners.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks.
