Skills and Qualifications:
- Passion for animals and a desire to work in the veterinary field
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle animals with care and compassion
- Basic knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures
- Experience with animal care and handling preferred
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Willing to have a flexible work schedule and the ability to work weekends would be considered an asset.
- The completion of a Veterinary Assistant or Animal Care Attendant, and program, and 1 year of experience in the veterinary industry is preferred. However, we would be willing to train the right candidate.
Job responsibilities:
- Assist our team of experienced veterinarians in providing top-notch care to our furry clientele
- Handle and comfort pets during exams and procedures
- Prepping treatment rooms, exam rooms for appointments and procedures
- Maintain a clean and welcoming clinic environment
- Client communication, scheduling appointments, and maintaining medical records
- Monitor hospitalized patients
- Prepare vaccinations and fill prescriptions
- Place supply orders and update inventory
- And most importantly, bring your boundless energy, infectious enthusiasm, and love for all things fluffy to every interaction!
