Trout Lake Animal Hospital has an opening for a full-time veterinarian to join our amazing team of experienced and dedicated individuals to care for both owned and shelter animals. We are looking for a compassionate veterinarian with exceptional communication skills and a positive and upbeat attitude. In this position you'll use your surgical and medical knowledge to manage a diverse caseload, as well as bring a high level of empathy and humility to positively impact the lives of people and animals in British Columbia.
We are a full service, progressive hospital with a focus on providing high quality, Fear Free patient and client care. We have amazing clients who are committed to staying on top of their pet’s health! We have fully in-house AnTech and IDEXX lab, digital radiography (including dental!), and are fully paperless using Cornerstone.
Candidates should have at least two years of full-time experience in small animal medicine. Must be confident with routine soft tissue surgery, dentistry, client communication, and should be comfortable working independently as well as with other veterinarians and members of the team. Excellent medical record keeping and client communication skills are a must. EzyVet proficiency would be an asset, but training can be provided. We’re currently open 7 days.

Position Details: · Full-time position · No overnights or on call required · Salary based on experience and includes commission/bonus pay
Required knowledge, skills & abilities to succeed in this position:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from an educational institute accredited by the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association, or equivalent/comparable veterinary degree with eligibility to obtain a full license to practice in British Columbia
- Proficient knowledge and skills to independently diagnose, treat, and document medical conditions seen in a general practice setting
- Proficient knowledge of veterinary surgery, dentistry, and anesthesia
- Advanced surgical knowledge an asset
- Experience with Cornerstone an asset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and Exemplary customer service that builds loyalty and trust with our clients
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment independently and in a team
- Attention to detail and the flexibility to work with changing priorities under pressure
- Experience developing and implementing standards, procedures and structures to support high quality care and best in class experiences.
- Proven leadership, communication and problem solving skills.
- Must possess strong organizational and time-management skills
