Located at Alberta Hospital Edmonton, the Young Adult Evaluation, Treatment and Reintegration Service (Unit 12-A) is a short stay, fast-paced 26-bed acute care multidisciplinary psychiatry program for medically stable patients aged 17 to 26 years. This inpatient program is designed to help young people transition from an acute phase of illness toward stabilization. The Unit Clerk plays a key role in creating a welcoming and positive experience for patients, visitors and health professionals. As a Unit Clerk, you will collaborate with and support the inpatient team by performing the following duties: reception, greeting and directing visitors/patients/health professionals, maintaining patient records and electronic medical records, liaising with Provincial Staffing Services, and scheduling patient tests and/or treatments. You will also be responsible for performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit, including meeting minute taking and organizing meetings virtually. The unit clerk follows Recovery Alberta policies and procedures with a keen emphasis on effective communication and maintaining patient confidentiality. As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. You will also be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records and charts, transcribing and processing physician orders as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments. You will also be responsible for performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit.

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous involvement in quality improvement initiatives is an asset. Working knowledge of the CoACT model of care is an asset. Working knowledge of Microsoft Teams and virtual meetings is an asset. Working knowledge of Sharepoint is an asset.
