Building Foundations Tutoring is seeking enthusiastic, creative and self-motivated educators to provide trauma-informed academic and mentorship support to children in foster care. We work with students in elementary and high school (currently seeking elementary trained educators) to meet individualized goals and encourage the development of learning skills and build self-esteem.
In this role, you will work with a client on a 40-hour tutoring assignment (1-3 hours/week). Scheduling is flexible. Alongside this direct instruction time, tutors are also paid preparation/data recording time (1 hour for every 3 hours of instruction).
Qualifications/Requirements
*OCT (or equivalent) or EA Qualifications
*Experience developing and carrying out learning plans that connect to the Ontario curriculum
*Sensitivity to diverse family structures
*Vulnerable Sector Check required upon successful application
Remuneration: $25.00/hour + preparation time
