About the Treehouse Program
The Treehouse Program is a safe, welcoming, and supportive space for youth. We believe every young person deserves connection, encouragement, and the opportunity to grow. Through mentorship, group activities, and access to resources, we help youth feel seen, supported, and empowered in their journey.
Position Summary
We are looking for Treehouse Mentors to join our team. In this role, you will walk alongside youth—providing connection, encouragement, and guidance. You’ll help with everyday needs such as finding resources and homework support, as well as co-facilitating wellness groups and building positive, meaningful relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Build safe, supportive, and respectful connections with youth
- Support youth in accessing community resources and opportunities
- Assist with homework and learning activities
- Help facilitate wellness groups, recreational activities, and discussions
- Provide mentorship that fosters belonging, growth, and resilience
- Work collaboratively with other team members to create a positive environment
Qualifications/Experience
- Passion for working with youth in supportive and empowering ways
- Ability to build trust and maintain healthy boundaries
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliability and consistency in showing up for youth
- A non-judgemental, compassionate approach that supports youth autonomy and growth
- Previous experience in mentorship, youth work, education, or related fields is an asset (but not required)
- Deep commitment to youth-centred care, harm reduction, and trauma-informed practice
- Current Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check required (or willingness to obtain)
- Training in CPR/First Aid, ASIST, Crisis Intervention, or Mental Health First Aid is an asset
