Therapist (Youth Wellness)

One of a network of provincial community health centres, the NorWest Community Health Centres is a community based, non-profit organization funded by Ontario Health, emphasizing access to primary health care and prevention programs and services.
We are currently seeking a 1 FTE Therapist, as a valuable member of the Community Health Centres’ team who will provide evidence-based, trauma-informed therapy for racialized (Indigenous/Black) youth (16 years and older), newcomers, non-insured.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Master’s degree is required.
• Registration in good standing with College of Registered Psychotherapists, or Ontario College of Social Workers or Social Service Workers, or the College of Psychologists.
• Minimum of two years’ clinical experience providing therapy and its application complex mental health issues.
• Experience working in a community based or outpatient mental health setting.
• Experience working with Indigenous or black communities or lived experience as Indigenous or black community member.
• Proficiency in the use of computers, knowledge of software applications and use of electronic medical records.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with an inter-professional team.
• Awareness and sensitivity to Indigenous or black socio-economic and cultural issues.
• Awareness of and sensitivity to health issues particularly within populations who face barriers to accessing care (under housed, living with mental health challenges or diagnoses, current or past substance use, complex health histories, 2SLGBTQIA+, newcomers, non-insured).
• Valid driver’s license, access to a vehicle and ability to travel to other sites.
