YOUR ROLE
The Depot Supervisor will be responsible to provide leadership and coordination to the staff of the Depot department, oversees the surveillance of all outside carriers in the yard, registering all planned work in the system to ensure proper use of the crane operators, ensures follow-up on all repair estimates/orders and communicating with the customer. The Depot Supervisor ensures that process KPIs are established, revised and continuously improved upon to deliver the best service experience to the customer.
Note: This Job Description may not encompass the entire scope of this role, as other duties maybe assigned by management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Office Operations
- Use equipment inventory systems for interchanges, bookings, invoices, etc
- Use the client’s portal in order to track and monitor all inbound and outbound requests to and from the terminal.
- Troubleshoot & diagnose system problems
- Adhere to policies and procedures as well as regulatory compliance
- Monitor and coordination of inbound and outbound requests
- Ensure compliance with laws, regulations and standards
- Manage the operating structure of the Depot/Terminal within company standards to drive the success of the team members
- Ensure Depot/terminal meets customer expectations for depot and repair services
- Ensure that container documentation is dealt with in a timely manner
- Work with operations on customer issues
- Supervise, assign tasks, coach, and discipline staff as needed
- Validate prior day operations and perform daily and weekly reconciliation process
- Audit all prior day operations for accuracy in settlement totals, hours worked, and allocation of labor
- Oversee the execution of all required reporting functions at the Depot/Terminal
- Perform other duties as assigned by management;
Yard Operations
- Monitors the reefers and completes daily reporting, communicates with customer, coordinates the resolution of issues with suppliers/customer;
- Reports incident/accident in the yard to the relevant parties;
- Monitors all the traffic in the yard;
- Creates and monitors performance KPIs;
Sales & Customer Support
- Develops and executes sales strategies and business plans to ensure realization of corporate vision while maximizing profits and growth opportunities.
- Leads the initiation and negotiation of contractual agreements

Responds to customer enquiries, answers customer’s calls and emails in a timely manner;
- Ensures that customers are highly regarded and receive exceptional service
Staff Management
- Monitor performance and workload
- Lead team meetings
- Assist with training of new employees
- Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with those on your team, as well as cross functionally.
REQUIREMENTS
- CEGEP diploma in administration or any related field is required;
- Bilingual (proficient in English and French, required in order to handle unilingual clients)
- Experience working with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power point, 365) and industry systems;
- 3-5 years general supervision and experience leading a team in an industrial environment is preferable;
- Strong and proven operations background in the intermodal / service industry (desired);
- Conflict resolution - confronts problems openly and works constructively to find common ground.
- Track record for good people skills - demonstrates ability to negotiate.
- Numbers ability - able to work comfortably with numbers.

Work Environment
- Mainly office environment but will be required to spend time in depot yard each day and exposed to all weather conditions.
Shift
- Monday-Friday 8am - 5pm , weekends if needed (flexible based on the needs of the depot/Terminal).
